Enrolment Process
Thank you for considering De La Salle College for your son’s education.
De La Salle College brings 112 years’ tradition of excellence in Catholic boys’ education, inspiring engagement, belonging, creativity, and lifelong learning in a supportive environment. We nurture an inclusive community through high expectations, high standards and consistent teaching, all embedded in Catholic Lasallian values and the pursuit of justice.
From 2026, De La Salle College will exclusively provide secondary education for boys in Years 7-12. This strategic change is designed to enhance our focus on creating an educational environment that meets the unique developmental needs of young men.
Our final primary cohort will complete Year 6 in 2025. We are no longer accepting applications for Year 5 students.
We warmly welcome students from all over the Melbourne Metropolitan area, embracing an academically non-selective and open enrolment policy. As a non-zoned Catholic College, we offer a diverse and inclusive educational environment for students from all backgrounds and faith traditions.
De La Salle College is easily accessible by public transport, making it convenient for families throughout the Metropolitan Melbourne area. With nearby train stations, tram stops, and bus routes, commuting to our college is straightforward and hassle-free.
We welcome enquiries for enrolments for all year levels, subject to availably. Mid-year enrolments are accepted on a case-by-case basis, we ask that you contact our Admissions Team to discuss your specific enrolment requirements.

Step 1: Application
Application FormThe first step in joining the De La Salle community is to complete the College’s online Application Form.
A non-refundable application fee of $65, inclusive of GST, is required to process each application. It’s important to note that submitting an application is a step towards enrolment but does not automatically guarantee a place.
A copy of your son’s birth certificate (in PDF format) must be provided with the Application Form. Applications are accepted from birth and are processed in line with the De La Salle College enrolment policy.
De La Salle College is not registered with The Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) so therefore are unable to enrol international students on a Student Visa. Applicants must hold Australian Citizenship or a Permanent Residency. Families holding a Visa must be able to provide documentation.

Step 2: Enrolment Interview
Enrolment interviews for all prospective students are conducted with a senior academic staff member.
The primary goal of these informal interviews is to get to know both you and your son better, ensuring that our College can support his growth and development in the best possible way. We will take this opportunity to gain an understanding of your son’s strengths and interests as well as any medical, learning, or pastoral needs your son may have.
To help us make the most of this meeting, our Admissions team will request the following information prior to the interview:
- Your son’s most recent academic reports.
- Latest NAPLAN results
- Any other supporting documentation relevant to your son’s learning needs.
This information will enable us to have a more informed and meaningful discussion about your son’s educational journey and how our College can contribute to his success and well-being.
Step 3 – Formal Offer
Formal offers of place will be made following the enrolment interview in line with the MACS enrolment guidelines. Details regarding offers for each intake year will be communicated directly by the Admissions Team to families during the enrolment process.
Step 4 – Accepting Your Place
To secure your son’s place, we ask you to complete and return the necessary paperwork by the specified due date and pay the once off enrolment fee of $300.
By completing the Acceptance Agreement, you are acknowledging your understanding of our College’s expectations and procedures. It is also a confirmation that all the information you have provided is accurate and complete.

Step 5 – Transition
De La Salle College places great importance on ensuring a seamless transition for all students entering a new school environment.
To prepare for a great start, students confirmed for Year 7 entry will participate in a range of transition activities. These will focus on forming new friendships, familiarity of our campus as well as participating in academic assessments. These assessments help us create an initial academic profile for your son, allowing us to tailor an educational journey that best suits his needs.
