We are proud to announce that Alex Simpson, a Year 11 student from St Edwin’s House, has been selected to represent De La Salle College on the prestigious ACU Student Leaders Program. This unique opportunity will take Alex, along with eight other Year 11 students from across Secondary Catholic Colleges, on an incredible journey to London and Rome.
Earlier this year, MACS invited secondary Catholic colleges to nominate one Year 11 student for the program, which aims to develop young leaders through experiences that explore key influences shaping Western religion, arts, politics, and society. Alex’s nomination was put forward by the College Executive, and with the support of staff, his application was submitted for consideration.
On the last day of term, Alex received the exciting news that he had been selected. Both Alex and his mother, Sam, are thrilled, and the entire De La Salle College community shares in their excitement.
This program offers students the chance to engage with significant historical and cultural contexts that have contributed to shaping modern society. Participants will have the chance to visit important religious, political, and artistic sites in both London and Rome, providing them with a deeper understanding of the Western world’s cultural and societal foundations.
We congratulate Alex on this incredible achievement and look forward to seeing how he grows as a leader through this transformative experience.
