Sri Lanka Cricket Tour

The cricket tour to Sri Lanka over the Term 1 holiday break was very successful. Our team played some great cricket and faced some amazing opponents, some of whom we will no doubt see playing international cricket for Sri Lanka one day.

We finished the tour with three wins, three losses and a draw. We won our last two games which showed that the team had learned from earlier games and adapted to facing predominately spin bowling on spin-friendly wickets.

It was a great cultural experience for the students and they responded brilliantly. Despite excessive heat and some long days our cricketers did not complain once. They interacted with the local children and their cricketing opposition extremely well. It certainly has been a rewarding exercise for our De La cricketers.

Golf

Year 10 student Kristoff Soliven won not one, but two golf tournaments over the Term 1 holiday break; 2017 Cranbourne Golf Club Junior Open under 18 and 2016 South Gippsland Golf Classic 36 holes event overall winner.

Congratulations Kristoff!
