Year 8 RE Excursion

This term the Year 8 RE classes have undertaken an excursion to the Jewish Museum of Australia and the National Gallery of Victoria as part of their studies of the Jewish Life of Jesus. The excursion days began with a two hour guided tour of the Jewish Museum and associated synagogue. Students were exposed to the traditions and prayer life of Jewish people in Melbourne and were exposed to some of the traditions of Passover.

After lunch classes travelled along St Kilda Road by tram to the National Gallery of Victoria International. Here they had the opportunity to view the range of religious inspired art and sculpture on show. The tour guides kept the groups moving from one art piece to another, exposing them to a range and depth of art that the boys would not normally have access to. All reports from the boys were positive and the excursion will be sure to occur again next year.
