At the recent Victorian Allschools Championships Dalton Di Medio, Year 10, won gold in the U17 boys’ pole vault and Andre Di Medio, Year 6, won silver in the U14 boys’ pole vault and jumping a new PB! Both boys qualify to represent De La Salle in Canberra for the National All School Championships in December. It was a nail biting competition for Andre, who didn’t miss a height and had very talented competition — plus he was the youngest competitor in the field! His persistence and focus paid off for him. Dalton also jumped well and was just shy of a new PB.
Liam Halloran, Year 10, also represented the College in the Victorian Allschools Championships at Lakeside Stadium running the 800m event in his age group. He won the bronze medal in a very strong time of 1.59. He achieved a sub two minute time for the 800m which was a highlight.
We also had College representation in the triple jump at the State Allschools championship. Lachlan Menara, Year 10, took the bronze medal in the triple jump in his age category, jumping an impressive 13.73 metres – an equal PB from last season. Lachlan had also qualified to compete in the long jump but unfortunately he sprained his ankle in the triple jump and was unable to compete.
Congratulations to all our De La Salle competitors. We are very proud of your results reflecting the hard work and dedication put into your sport.
Great news this week with Mr Michael Wilson’s 9A Cricket Team progressing through to a home grand final. The team finished the season with a great win over Parade College and now play Whitefriars College in the grand final next week. Well done team!
