Pastoral Care and Organisation
The House momentum is building. Last week staff across the College gathered in the first meetings of their Houses. The meetings were enthusiastically led by the 2015 House Leaders:
Austin’s: Jeff Locke and Michael Watty
Edwin’s: Emma D’Angelo and Michael Petrie
Leo’s: Michael Wilson and Tim Hogan
Mark’s: Aoife Bermingham and Paul Harrup
Next Tuesday 24 February the morning Homeroom will be extended by 25 min to enable Houses to gather students in preparation for the College Athletics Carnival on March 6. This will also be the first time students will have gathered as a House team and will lay the foundation for the many House opportunities to come.
Athletics Carnival information
All students will receive a letter this week outlining the arrangements for the College Athletics Carnival on Friday 6 March. Attached to the letter is the consent form that must be completed and returned to their Homeroom teacher by Tuesday 24 February. Please note the transport arrangements for this year’s carnival. As the event is being held at Lakeside Stadium Albert Park, all students will be bussed to the venue from the College. All students are required to come to school and attend Homeroom at 8.40 am. Parents will have the opportunity to indicate if they grant permission for their son to be dismissed from Lakeside Stadium at the conclusion of the carnival at 2.30 pm. To assist us in finalising our bus requirements we ask that parents indicate this on the consent form. Students will not be permitted to leave the stadium at the end of the day without prior consent from their parents.
Mission Action Day
Sponsorship forms were distributed to students last week. The boys are encouraged to find ways to raise funds to support this important work in Lasallian communities with great need. Boys are asked to invite family, friends, neighbours and even strangers to sponsor them. There will be a number of student led activities on each campus in coming weeks, with numerous ways for boys to become involved. The fundraising effort culminates on March 27 with the College walk-a-thon activity. Last year the College raised the amazing amount of $102,800 and we are hoping to beat that this year. If we all work together we can certainly do this.
This year consent forms are being sent home for all off-campus activities. A reminder to parents to assist us by completing and returning the form to the College by the requested deadline. Thank you.
