From the CEO

Dear Students, Staff and Parents,

During my recent monitoring trip to PNG I saw the DLS Bomana buildings students from DLS Malvern College have put their hearts into constructing over recent years, and I want to share my incredible sense of pride for those students who take part in the immersion programs.

Currently six De La Salle schools (DLS College Malvern, Oakhill College, Southern Cross Catholic College, St Bede’s Mentone, St Johns Regional College and James Sheehan College) participate annually in the immersion programs in PNG, India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and the Philippines. These young people really do make a tangible difference in the lives of their peers from backgrounds not as fortunate as their own.

It’s not only a fantastic experience for the students, we have received feedback from the Brothers, staff and children at the projects that the students presence and friendship is appreciated immensely, and they look forward to the visits each year.

To give you an idea of how much the ANZ Lasallian schools contribute, last year alone the schools raised over $200,000 combined from their immersion trips and other fundraising efforts for various Lasallian mission projects.

Everyone in the office loves receiving the group photos. Seeing those happy, smiling faces (sometimes paint and dirt covered) make us smile too!

To all those who take part — Keep up the awesome work! You will take these incredible experiences into life well after high school.
Kind regards,

Miranda Chow
