Premier’s VCE Award

All at De La Salle would like to congratulate Stephen Ciavarella, College Dux, Class of 2013 who today received the Premier’s VCE Award for Biology, 2013.

The Award recognises the significant achievement of Victoria’s highest achieving students in each subject and pays tribute to their teachers and families. Stephen received a perfect study score of 50 for Biology and the Premier’s Award is testimony to Stephen’s knowledge and commitment in this study.

Stephen accepted his award today at a packed Melbourne Convention Centre in front of his proud family and Unit 3 & 4 Biology teacher, Mr Paul Harrup.

By virtue of his outstanding Study Score of 99.90 Stephen has been granted a Melbourne National Scholarship to study Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne.

We wish Stephen continued success in his studies as he pursues a career in the field of medicine.

It is also worth noting that in 2012 Stephen also received the Premier’s Award for his perfect score of 50 in Further Mathematics. To win two Premiers Awards is largely unheard of and this is a simply outstanding achievement on Stephen’s part.

In addition, Tom Dwyer, also from the class of 2013, scored a perfect 50 in Visual Communication and Design. This has assisted Tom in being granted a scholarship to study for a double degree in Engineering‐Mechanical/Industrial Design at RMIT. Our congratulations to Tom and we wish him well in all his tertiary endeavours and beyond. These are terrific examples of what De La Salle students can achieve through diligence, commitment and organisation.
