ACC Sporting Fixture — Term 1, Week 9

Please find attached the ACC Sport Schedule for Wednesday, 26 March and Friday, 28 March.

Our First XI finished the regular season with a convincing 92 run victory over Mazenod to march into the Grand Final with good form and confidence. Our opponent is Salesian and the match will be played at Whitefriars College on Wednesday, 26 March at 12.30pm. It is great to have our First XI Cricket Team into the “Big Dance” again since our “Back to Back” Premierships in 2010 and 2011. Good luck to the Year 11 and 12 boys lead by Wes Agar and Marty Rhoden for our 3rd ACC First XI Premiership in 5 years.

A win last Wednesday for our Second XI would have put both of our Senior Cricket Teams into the Grand Final. However, another narrow and “Hartebreaking” loss by 3 runs to CBC St Kilda resigned DLS to a 5th place finish on the ladder. Thank you to Peter Larsen for his time, effort, passion and incredible resilience for coaching a team that lost 3 matches by under 7 runs!

Our Senior A Volleyball Team were defeated but not disgraced by Mazenod at the State Volleyball Centre, Dandenong last Wednesday. The Team finished in a creditable 4th place with 3 wins and 2 losses. Thank you to Ken Stokes for coaching both Volleyball Teams throughout Term 1.

ACC Athletics preparation continues on Friday, 28 March from 7.30 to 8:30am at Duncan Mackinnon with our final full team training session in the lead up to the ACC Carnival on Wednesday, 2 April.
